Kompany is looking to rejuvenate the Bayern defence since taking over as head coach after Thomas Tuchel's departure at the end of the season and reports that the Belgian has highlighted Gomez as a top target.

Liverpool have no intention of selling Gomez to the German side as they see him as an important player as they prepare for life under new manager Arne Slot. The 27-year-old is coming off the back of his best season in senior football and is part of Gareth Southgate's England squad at Euro 2024.
